Community Guidelines & Safety Tips
Last Updated: 01/04/2026
Welcome to Drom. We built this platform to connect people who share a passion for hitting the pavement, pushing their limits, and finding genuine connections. Whether you are looking for a partner for a 10K training session or a romantic date, safety and respect are the baseline requirements for running with us.
To keep the Drom community safe, we enforce strict guidelines for both digital interactions and real-world meetups. Violating these rules will result in immediate removal from the platform.
Part 1: The Digital Track (In-App Behavior)
App Store and Google Play guidelines require us to maintain a safe digital environment. We have a zero-tolerance policy for the following behaviors:
Respect the Pace (No Harassment)
Drom is a positive community. Harassment, bullying, stalking, intimidation, or hate speech of any kind will result in an immediate, permanent ban. If someone asks you to stop messaging them, stop.
Keep It Authentic
Be yourself. Do not impersonate others, use fake photos, or lie about your age. Catfishing is strictly prohibited.
Zero Tolerance for Explicit Content
Do not send unsolicited sexually explicit images or messages. Drom utilizes automated filtering and user reports to actively monitor and remove objectionable material.
No Commercial Solicitation
Drom is for personal connections. Using the app to sell products, promote businesses, or solicit money is a violation of our terms.
Your Tools for Safety
If another user makes you uncomfortable or violates these rules, use the tools built into the app immediately:
Tap the "Block" button on any user's profile to permanently sever all contact. They will no longer be able to see your profile or message you.
Tap the "Report" button to flag a profile or specific message to our moderation team. We commit to reviewing all reports within 24 hours.
Part 2: Hitting the Pavement (Real-World Meetup Safety)
Meeting up with a new running partner or date is exciting, but your physical safety and situational awareness must always come first. Drom does not conduct criminal background checks, so you must use your best judgment.
Meet in Public, Populated Areas
For your first few runs or dates, always meet in a well-lit, highly populated area. A busy public athletic track, a popular park during daylight hours, or a crowded café post-run are ideal. Never agree to meet at someone’s private home or in isolated, unlit areas.
Share Your Route
Before you head out, tell a trusted friend or family member exactly who you are meeting, where you are going, and when you expect to return. Consider sharing your live location with them via your phone’s operating system.
Stay Alert
Maintain situational awareness. If you run with music, keep one earbud out so you can hear your surroundings. Keep your phone charged and easily accessible.
Know Your Physical Limits
Running with a new partner can be competitive, but do not push yourself beyond your physical capabilities just to impress a match. You are responsible for your own health and pacing.
Arrange Your Own Transportation
Always control how you get to and from the meetup. Do not rely on your match for a ride on the first date.
